10 students, 2 instructors, and 2 volunteers from FIRST team 2369 helped out in Stillwater at the state FIRST Lego League competition on Friday and Saturday. Friday was spent setting up the event for the event and getting it ready for the hundreds of elementary and middle school students.
On Saturday, the team made final preparations in the morning and then spent the rest of the day running the 8 video cameras that provided live video footage of the competitions on the large projector screens for everyone to see.
"It was a fun day for everyone. We got to see a lot of the creative abilities of young people from across the state," said Matthew Jones, an Information Technology Instructor from Meridian Technology Center. "It's obvious that these teams put alot of time and effort into their robots to get ready for this competition.
Meridian will begin their robotic season in January at the First Robotics Kickoff at OSU in Stillwater. Last year the OSU kickoff was the largest FIRST Robotics Kickoff in the world.
