OUTLAWS FALL TO GUNNERS IN METRO BOWL THRILLER
It was a story for the ages. It was a game for the history books. It was a magnificent win for the OKC Gunners. It was a heart-breaking loss for the Stillwater Outlaws. Down 20-0 going into the 4th quarter, the Outlaws barely held any hope of recovery. It wasn't until a run by Jerwin Johnson scored the first touchdown and Henderson's extra point got them on the board 20-7 that the offense really posed a threat. They answered on the next possession with another running touchdown by Jerwin Johnson. The Outlaws battled back and forth with the Gunners as the clock ran down. Finally the Outlaws took a 21-20 lead with 1:24 left in the game after a short run by Terrance Burris and a third kick by Henderson. The cheers died out as the Outlaws watched their kick methodically be returned by the Gunners to give them the lead 28-21. It was a hard fought battle by two offensively-opposite teams, yet won by the special teams.
The Outlaws salute the Gunners and all teams of the OMFL for a great season and wish you the best of luck next year!
